Find the values of x and y https://courseplayer.avalearning.com/NeutralLMS/coursefiles/Questions/522130/27%2001.png Help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 4; y = 4√2 x = 4√3; y = 4 x = 4√3; y = 2 x = 4; y = 4√3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Someone show me how to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ex: sin(30 degrees)=(x/8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos(30 degrees)=(y/8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand this at all.. lol can you make it alittle easier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin = opposite/hypotenuse cos = adjacent/hypotenuse tan = opposite/adjacent. Sin(A degrees) = opposite (x) / hypotenuse (8). Using the bottom left angle: sin(30 degrees) = x/8 solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is sin(30 degrees)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.5 = (x/8) What is x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, so now we solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use cos(30) = (y/8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use cos(30 degrees) = (y/8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is cos(30 degrees) 0.15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos(30 degrees) = ( sqaureroot(3) ) /2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(sqrt(3)/2) = (y/8) Cross multiply. 8(sqrt(3)) = 2y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide both side by 2 4*sqrt(3) = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 4 y = 4*sqrt(3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=4 and y=4sqrtof3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you (:
