Would gas particles in a container be close together or spaced out? @wolfe8

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Depends. I mean, if you just take a container and cover it, the particles inside are just as equally spaced as particles outside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But would the particles expand to fill the container? @wolfe8

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I'm trying to see if I understand this the way you are asking. If you say, take a balloon and pop it inside a vacuum container, then yes, all the particles in the balloon will space out to fill the container.

ok thanks :)

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

You're welcome. Hope that's what you were looking for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it was :)

Alright :) Btw, this was more of a physics/chemistry question. And so it the one you just posted.
