What is the equation of the following line written in general form? (The y-intercept is -1.) https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/3/80b.gif 2x + y - 1 = 0 -2x - y - 1 = 0 2x - y - 1 = 0

OpenStudy (tester97):

so first you have to find the slope do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol online school dosnt teach me pellet ughh

OpenStudy (tester97):

look at this http://www.purplemath.com/modules/slope/slope02.gif

OpenStudy (tester97):

so you pic 2 points on the line you already have (1,1) so pick another point i chose (-1,-3) and plug in the two y's and the 2 x's and it looks like this

OpenStudy (tester97):

1+3 ------ 1+1 that simplifies to 4 --- 2 then that turns to just 2 because 4 divided by 2 is simply 2.

OpenStudy (tester97):

so now you have you slope intercept form of the equation which is y=2x-1 so to convert that to general form you would have to move the y over to the other side and it would look like this and thats your answer. 2x-y-1=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the last

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how are you so good at this tester

OpenStudy (tester97):

this is alg 1 right? so i was great at that but alg 2 is a bit tricky so pay good attention this year ^_^

kk lol
