1. Jon, Elizabeth, and Franco read 27 books among them for a class. 2. Franco read 6 books. 3. None of the three students read more than 7 books. Which two statements contradict each other?

Yeah, because if none of the three students read more than 7 books, then 27 would be false. It would at the most be 21 books. So statements 1 & 3 contradict each other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the three of them read 27 books they need to have read more than 7 since (3 * 7) is only 21... they would each have to read 9
