Use both verbs __です and the TE form of verb +います to talk about yourself or a friend. Could you give me an example on what to do? @Vincent-Lyon.Fr
Up until now I've just been doing basic things this is just too complex for me I don't understand on how to use the ~te form of います
In English, you have two present tenses, simple and continuous: 'I do' vs. 'I am doing'. V~て います is used to express the continuous form of the verb. In the examples below, I will separate the V~て from the います, but it is usually spelt as one word. I eat : たべます I am eating : たべて います (--> 食べています) I go : いきます I am going : いって います I speak : はなします I am speaking : はなして います I drink : のみます I am drinking : のんで います I listen : ききます I am listening : きいて います I watch : みます I am watching : みて います Besides, some verbs you may already know are in fact V~て います forms. I live in Tôkyô : とうきょうに すんでいます (original verb すみます) I own a car : くるまを もっています (original verb もちます) Now, this V~ています form has other uses in Japanese, such as the result of an action: しります gives しっています which means 'I know', as the result of learning something at one point in time.
