working on it. Not sure. #research
B
probably not D, because Jean-Jacques Rousseau was anti-society.
@LilliBelle I ignore people who just give out answers without explanation
so yeah, it was B. http://college.cengage.com/english/lauter/heath/shared/ig_5e/heath_anthology__5_ins_guide.pdf fourth result when searching "declaration of independence" Texts by women writers, by adherents of different religious communities, and by members of different social classes show that whatever Thomas Jefferson may have claimed about the truths he articulated in The Declaration of Independence, they were anything but “self-evident” at the time. Thomas jefferson was the only one mentioned in there. Also, taylor, there's usually not too much explaining to do in most history questions :p
further research says that I was wrong tho "In his Common Sense, Paine states that sooner or later independence from England must come, because America had lost touch with the mother country. In his words, all the arguments for separation of England are based on nothing more than simple facts, plain arguments and common sense. Government was necessary evil that could only become safe when it was representative and altered by frequent elections. The function of government in society ought to be only regulating and therefore as simple as possible. Not suprisingly, but nevertheless remarkable was his call for a declaration of independence. Due to the many copies sold (500.000) Paine's influence on the Declaration of Independence of July 4, 1776 is eminent. Another sign of his great influence is the number of loyalist reactions to Common Sense." also, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Locke His contributions to classical republicanism and liberal theory are reflected in the United States Declaration of Independence.[5]
