I'm stuck on this step, what to do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try guessing, it is way easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 - x is a perfect square if x = 1, because 5 - 1 = 4 then you get root(4)-root(1) = 2 - 1 = 1 finished

I have no idea what you said up there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in english the square root of 5 - x is a perfect square ( like 1, 4, 9, 16, etc) if x = 1, because the square root of 5 - 1 is the square root of 4, which is 2 so if x is 1, you get the square root of 4 minus the square root of 1 that is 2 - 1 and 2 - 1 = 1, which is what you want so x = 1 is the answer
