2 AgNo3 + Ni --> 2Ag + Ni(NO3)2 A manufacturer has 40 moles of Ni and 30 moles of AgNO3. Assume that the max amount of Ag is produced from these two reactants. a. What is the limiting reactant? b. Which reactant will be left over? c. How many moles of silver will be produced?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

You will divide those values with their respective coefficients from the equation. The lower one will be the limiting reactant because it will be used up(obviously because it is less). The higher one therefore cannot react anymore and the reaction stops.

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

ok.... if there is 1 mole of Ni ----> u need 2 moles of AgNO3 10 mole of Ni ---> u need 20 mole of AgNO3 20 mole of Ni ---> u need 40 moles OPS!! there r only 30 moles of AgNO3.... so when only 15 moles of Ni get reacts all 30 moles of AgNO3 will participate to it and will get used up... so there will remain 25 moles of Ni in the end so AgNO3 was the compound that was finished first and therefor it is the limiting reactant got it ?
