Select the equation of a line that is parallel to the line on the graph and passes through the point (2, 3). y = 2x + 4 y = - 2x + 2 y = - 1 over 2 x + 2 y = - 1 over 2 x + 4

slope-intercept form: y = mx + b when m = slope and b = y-intercept could you first determine the slope of the line on the graph?
-2
or -1/2
-1/2 would be correct :) then since parallel lines have equal slope the slope of the line you're looking for would also have a slope of -1/2
i am thinking th e answer would be y = - 1 over 2 x + 2
mmm not quite :) try again?
+4
yep :)
thanks can you help with one more
sure :)
Select the coordinates of two points on the line y = -2. (2, -2) and (-2, 2) (-2, -2) and (-2, 0) (2, -2) and (0, -2) (-2, 2) and (-2, -2)
coordinate points are formatted like (x, y) so when y = -2 the point would be (x, -2) where x can be any number
so it would be (2,-2) and (0,-2)
Correct! :)
