Most metals are NOT a. ductile. b. good conductors of heat and electricity. c. liquid at room temperature. d. malleable.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I say its C can anyone tell me if it is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you are correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then this is false Most metals are in the liquid state at room temperature.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. I'm back now. Yes, that is true. The only metal that is liquid at room temperature is Mercury, which is extremely poisonous.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So im right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you are right. By the way, welcome to OpenStudy, and please take the time to read the OpenStudy Code of Conduct (CoC): http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct and the Terms and Conditions. http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions These will help you become a better user on OS. :)

OpenStudy (petiteme):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Petite can you give her a medal

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Welcome to OpenStudy ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol Thanks jackblack.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait i got one more question i need to be correct can you help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, go ahead, what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why would it probably be very difficult to determine the chemical and physical properties of a newly discovered synthetic element? a. The element would not fit in the periodic table. b. The element’s nuclei would break apart very quickly. c. The element would combine the properties of the nuclei from which it was made. d. The element would lack many properties of ordinary elements.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is c right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer could be b or d. In fact there is no such thing as an "ordinary element". All elements are still elements. Anyway, elements have to have whole numbers of atoms, and we already have 1 through 118, so this new "synthesized element" would have to be 119, temporary name ununonium, or higher. Anything above a certain atomic number (around 80 or 90 something like that) will not occur naturally (in nature), and large atoms like ununoctium (118) break down (decay) very quickly. So in that sense b and d may both be correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for your help if i get a 90% ill contact the teacher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome :) 90% and you'll contact the teacher? For what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
