Monitoring language in the chats.
People need to monitor the language. I saw this comment. 'douschebag'. I then did my own experiment, and you can type any curse word in the chats, and it doesn't even underline the word in red. This makes me think that OpenStudy thinks that it's OK. However if you misspell slap as 'slp' it'll underline it. Does anybody else agree that the chat should be monitored, and star out curse words.
it underlines it because it's misspelled...
it does that for every website ever
flutter, pellet, owlet, sleek-feathered one, feather, and retricearen't misspelled, which is why it doesn't underline them
I know that it underlines 'slp' because it is misspelled, but I think that OpenStudy should have words like that underlined and if they post it it should be stared like this *****.
As long as they aren't misspelled, they can't have them underlined.
Don't be offensive, inappropriate, or creepy! So avoid: Insulting, berating, or otherwise discouraging others. Cursing and bypassing the language filters. Sexual innuendo, or "hitting on people". Soliciting personal, private, or offline contact information. Any form of racism, sexism, or any other prejudicial "isms".
People can't use offensive words, yet I saw it used, and I don't think that anybody cared.
Whatever I was just saying.
In conclusion, there's a report button. Use it.
The red underline is placed there by your browser, not by openstudy. So OS can't change that in any way. I do agree that insulting words should be posted as $%$*@#@$ instead of flutter and pellet. that way you can't trace back the insult, which makes it less insulting :)
