Let f(x) = 2x - 6 Solve f-1(x) when x = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I do this one? @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So you would FIRST do the inverse operation...what do you get from that? remember switch the 'x' and 'y' and then solve for 'y' again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x+6/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now where does the 2 come in

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right...NOW you plug in 2 for 'x' in that equation you just found out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so for that I got 2+6/2 then 8/2 which = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that it?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

That's it :)
