3. Rectangle RECT is rotated 360° about the y-axis. Find the surface area and volume of the resulting solid of revolution. Be sure to do the following: • Indicate the type of solid that was formed and its key dimensions. • State all formulas. • Show all substitutions and work. • Use appropriate units in your answers. http://i57.tinypic.com/rm2n1l.png Please help! im in need of help desperately

OpenStudy (linda3):

welcome to OpenStudy @underthestraswaiting! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im just stressed about this question. I have no idea how to do it and I need major help.

OpenStudy (linda3):

okay no problem! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ive heard great things about this site so I thought I would give it a go.

OpenStudy (linda3):

yeah It's a good site. :)

OpenStudy (linda3):

lol did u post ur question on yahoo?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (linda3):

cause i think i found it >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You probably did, haha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Under the name Snailer.

OpenStudy (linda3):

yes. This is a tougher question than i thought~ but that doesn't i'm not gonna help you ;-) I've got a few friends that could probably help you out! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome! This is on the study guide for the test and this is due tomorrow and its literately to only question I do not know.

OpenStudy (linda3):

@*Insert Name Here* @Data_LG2 @satellite73 @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (linda3):

yeah thats not a problem! :) That's what we're here for to answer any of your questions you don't seem to understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay! Geometry can get really confusing and tough at times.

OpenStudy (linda3):

yeah... i'm pretty good at that kinda stuff but when graphs are involved I kinda trip and it overwhelms me to finish the rest of the problem :P

OpenStudy (linda3):

@tester97

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahah thats understandable! Im good at volume and surface area. (I think everyone is. Its the easiest to do.) But this came up and I dont remember ever learning it.

OpenStudy (linda3):

@nincompoop @bibby

OpenStudy (tester97):

sorry idk >.<

OpenStudy (tester97):

i forgot how to maffs rite nao

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its okay :) We all do once and a while

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can anyone else help? this is due tomorrow and I am beginning to stress a bit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not 1/4 full cylinder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For which part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solid formed is cylinder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so I should put 1/4 cylinder as the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i said full cylinder as it is 360 rotation sorry for the previous mistake you can imagine and see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

full cylinder not 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wh are the dimensions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the Key dimensions. Or is that the full cylinder bit. (Im sorry if I seem stupid >.<)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok again the solid formed is cylinder and i need the length and breadth of rect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Length is 4 and H is 6. I believe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is r in the figure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0,3,5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok you are wrong breadth is 5 length is 6-3=3 take radius of the cylinder as 3 and height as 5 then find the volume etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope you got it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the breadth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 141cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my gosh. This makes sense now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

breadth is 5cm

OpenStudy (linda3):

hahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok friend

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you soooooooooo much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem and good morning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have the Same quesion so sorry, IDK :( But I migh find it somewhere else and ill let you know :)
