i'm not sure about the "classification" part, but i think it's a single displacement reaction :)

He is right, it is a single-displacement reaction. Single-displacement reactions take the general form of: A + B-C --> A-C + B In your equation, the Copper atom is the "A" in this reaction and the "B-C" is the AgNO3
