How do I find the X intercepts of the cubic function -2x^3 + 6x^2 - 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's a formula, but it's too damn complicated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubic_formula#General_formula_for_roots Just do trial and error. The moment you find one root, divide the equation by (x - the root) and get a quadratic equation.

I'm so confused still..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait a sec... X intercept means the points where it crosses the x-axis, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so the 0s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's no simple way to calculate the zeroes of your equation.

Go to the link and paste the function there.

Keep in mind that you only have to find ONE. After that, it's quadratic and the other two are easy.
