Polygon ABCDE is reflected to produce polygon A′B′C′D′E′. What is the equation for the line of reflection?

Do you have choices?

Polygon ABCDE is reflected to produce polygon A′B′C′D′E′. What is the equation for the line of reflection? y = 0 x = 0 x = 2 y = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bibby since you've been such a big help I only have 2 more questions and one of them is ^ by lovereboy and ill put up the graph

OpenStudy (bibby):

I need diagrams lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there you go @bibby

OpenStudy (bibby):

not sure how to go about this we'll start by taking a point and looking at the transformation C(1,1) C'(-1,1) gonna use this site as a reference http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/geometry/gt5/reviewTranformations.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (bibby):

sorry, I get distracted easily, anyhowwww

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okay lol

OpenStudy (bibby):

I'm honestly not sure what to say, all I can say is by looking at it that it looks like it's flipped over the origin

OpenStudy (bibby):

which means we want the choice that has the coordinates of a vertical line at the origin

OpenStudy (bibby):

|dw:1422552645145:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats that for ?

OpenStudy (bibby):

that's the line over which the points are reflected

OpenStudy (bibby):

http://www.mathopenref.com/coordvertical.html

OpenStudy (bibby):

vertical lines are of t he form x= a where a is some number that narrows it down to b and c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so would one of the answers be on of the 0?

OpenStudy (bibby):

that line is x=0, if you plot it all the way up and down the y axis, it should be obvious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is x=0??
