In a recent year the total sales at restraunt A were $300,000 more than at restraunt B. Total sales at the two stores were $575,000,000. what were the sales for the year each store? What was the amount of sales for the year at restraunt B?

Let restaurant A's total sales be X. So restaurant B's total sales should be X-300,000 The question says that total sales of restaurant A and B were 575,000,000... So X+(X-300,000) = 575,000,000 We'll get 2X-300,000 = 575,000,000 2X = 575,300,000 X = 287,650,000 And now, we know that restaurant A's total sales were 287,650,000... So restaurant B's total sales should be 287,350,000
