also the second one perhaps you are confused about "arithmetic" vs "geometric" arithmetic means you ADD a constant from one term to get the next one geometric means you MULTIPLY

in the first one you are adding 2 each time, it is arithmetic in the second one you are multiplying by \(\frac{1}{2}\) each time it is geometric
