Multiply (3x-5)^2 A.9x^2-30x+25 B.6x^2-10 C.9x^2-25 D.9x^2-15x+25
is it C?
A.9x^2-30x+25
can oyu explain your math @hazem-wardat
I'd much rather that you demonstrate how you got your possible answer than just ask, "is it C?" (3x-5)^2 is the square of 3x-5, but yes, it's true that you need multiplication to evaluate (3x-5)^2. @hazem-wardat : Would you please not provide answers; instead, please guide onetrevordude towards finding the correct result on his own. Thank you.
Please do that guiding now, if you can; otherwise I will.
ok isee what i did wrong
Would you, trevor, please show how you are now obtaining the correct result?
i needed to seperate the equations then FOIL
i though to just evenly distribute the exponent
(3x-5)*(3x-5)= 3x*3x+3x*-5+-5*3x+-5*-5
@onetevordude : Actually, we don't "distribute the exponent;" instead, we rewrite (3x-5)^2 as (3x-5)*(3x-5) and use the foil mehtod of multiplying binomials. this is what hazem has done (above).
