Hey, could somebody PLEASE help me with an Inverse Trig Antiderivative problem that has me STUMPED?

So, I have to prove that \[\frac{ dx }{ 1+x^{2} }=du\] given that \[u=\tan^{-1} x\] \[x=\tan u\] and \[dx=(\sec u)^{2}\]

I've tried several approaches, but all of them gave me different answers, none of which are right.

Oh yeah, the dx and du at the beginning parts are antiderivatives
