let f(x)=3x+2 and g(x)=-x^2+2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was moved into a algerbra 2 class late and have no idea how to solve this question:let f(x)=3x+2 and g(x)=-x^2+2x. find (f+g)(x) (f-g)(x) (f x g)(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (hba):

Well jow would you go about doing this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me the questopn and the problems

OpenStudy (hba):

how*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

savannahshea I cant help if You dont tell me your problems and your question

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

she did, at the top

OpenStudy (hba):

@Savannahshea you aren't replying to my question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry I don't even know how to start it.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

(f+g)(x) is the same as f(x) + g(x). so add the two functions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would the answer just be -3x^2+4x?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

no, it'll be x^2 + 2x + 3x + 2

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

-x^2*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you do that? like the work to solve it? thank you so much

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

combine similar terms, you said you were in algebra 2. the x's go together, the x^2 go together and the numbers go togrther

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you! would you mind helping me with two other ones?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

it's pretty similar. (f-g)(x) is the same as f(x) - g(x)

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

(3x+2) - (x^2 + 2x)

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

-x^2*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is none of the answer options
