Show that the triangle with vertices A(0,4),B(-4,-2), and C(4,-2) is isosceles. Plzzz help me? :)

Ok, this is actually pretty easy. First, draw a grid, like so (except please draw it better than that one): |dw:1395047950921:dw| Then, plot your points on the grid, like this: |dw:1395048071976:dw| Now, draw the lines and connect them. Now, we know that B is at (-4,-2) and that C is at (4,-2). How far apart are B and C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or you could just calculate all three distances between these points. if triangle is isosceles out of tree two distances would be equal.

Which is basically the next step. I was just putting it in a grid form for easy visualizing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula is distance formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

So, when you look at it, the triangle has these dimensions: |dw:1395048642516:dw| Now, if you need to find the length of a side, what do you do next?
