@mathmale could u help me? :)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Everything here depends upon how well we know the definitions of this trig vocabulary. If you're likely to see these words (scalene, acute, obtuse, isosceles, etc.,) again, it'd be worth looking them up and learning their meanings. Let's start with "obtuse." As applied to the triangle in question, "obtuse" means that one of the angles of the triangle is greater than 90 degrees. What's the opposite word? Once you know these two definitions, you could quickly eliminate 2 of the 4 possible answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Acute is less than 80 degrees @mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Hate to have to disagree, but it'd be worth your while to look up "acute."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A acute triangle is a triangle that has all angles less than 90°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale so it would be b

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Which adjective do we need to eliminate from among the possible answers? acute or obtuse? Hope you will actually look up all of these vocabulary words. You're fully capable of picking the right answer yourself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale Its B. I looked them up obtuse is not a option.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I agree that obtuse is not an option. The given triangle is "acute." What other descriptor applies to this triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isosceles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its B

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Right. What does "isosceles" mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at least two sides are equal

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Perfect. You've proven that you can do these problems yourself. Good going!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks:)
