OpenStudy (a1234):

For carbon to move from an animal to a car, what processes need to happen? Photosynthesis, combustion, and respiration? Respiration, fossilization, and photosynthesis? Fossilization, decomposition, and respiration? Or respiration, photosynthesis, and decomposition?

thomaster (thomaster):

Well, animals don't do photosynthesis. So we can already eliminate 3 answers...

OpenStudy (a1234):

Yeah, that's why I thought it is B. But for some reason I think that all those answers are incomplete.

thomaster (thomaster):

B also has photosynthesis in the answer. I'm also not satisfied with C, because decomposition comes before fossilization. Combustion (in A) would also not be a logical answer. Animals carry out respiration. The product of this feeds plants who carry out photosynthesis. The plants decompose and the carbon released in this process can be used in cars. So that I think would be the best answer.

OpenStudy (a1234):

Sorry, I meant to say C, not B.

thomaster (thomaster):

I see I made a typo in the first answer. We can only eliminate 1 answer, this is A For the fact that there is no decomposition before fossilization in B, we can eliminate that one too. And finally C cannot be the answer for the same reason. Decomposition comes before fossilization.
