During a football game, a young man suffers an injury to his spinal cord at the first thoracic vertebrate. What major functions could be lost due to his injury? Blinking Chewing Swallowing Pushing

@thomaster

sam (.sam.):

Hmm, I'd choose pushing because T1 is about the level of C8 spinal nerve which controls your arm movements, losing that would lose your arm function, well at least some part

sam (.sam.):

Blinking, chewing and swallowing are controlled by other nerves

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. In my lesson all it said was that it would effect balance and homeostasis so...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is pushing too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. See if you can follow this link. It might help http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/educator_anatphysiology_v13/module03/images/03_02_03/03_02_03_spinalregions_large.jpg

sam (.sam.):

Not possible, homoeostasis are controlled by hypothalamus which activates glands and secrete hormones, that's from CNS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it says temp. regulation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was pushing. Thanks!!

Good :)
