Your friend has $90 when he goes to the fair. He spends $5 to enter the fair and $15 on food. Rides at the fair cost $1.50 per ride. Which function can be used to determine how much money he has left over after x rides?

\[x =70 \div 1.50\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y = 85-1.50x\] Your starting point is 90, so it goes first (It's what everything will be subtracted from. Then you have to subtract 5 from that because it's the fee to enter the fair, which gets you the 85. Then after that, each ride he takes is x, but each ride costs $1.50. So if he goes on two rides, he'll be charged $3. It'll look like this: (1.5)(2). So, if he goes on two rides, the equation will look like this: y=85-1.50(2) Then you just simplify the math. Does that make sense?

Thanks soo much!
