When you get time, watch Khan's videos. For example http://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra/linear-equations-and-inequalitie/slope-and-intercepts/v/slope-of-a-line y= 7 is a special case of y= mx + b where m (the number that multiplies the "x") is the slope in other words y = 0*x + 7 is another (perhaps peculiar) way to write the equation but it makes it more clear what "m" is. m is 0. That means the slope is 0 the other special case is x=7. In this case, the slope is undefined.
