What is the difference between a MOSFET and transistor(Bi-polar)? [Edited on 24-3-2014]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A transistor is a small electronic device with three terminals. A MOSFET is a particular type of transistor. MOSFET stands for metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor. It's more like it indicates the type of construction and how it works internally rather than how it might behave differently from other types of transistors.

At first thanks. I am trying to work with a few bi polar transistors. There are many sorts of transistors. Transistors are kind of resistors.
