Which goods would be included in the calculation of GDP? Final goods made in the US are what go into the computation of US GDP. Toys made in China aren't counted because they are made elsewhere. Plastic made in the US and sold to another US company for use in other products isn't counted because it isn't a final good. Cotton cloth made elsewhere and sold to a US garment maker isn't counted because it isn't a final good and isn't made in the US. That leaves cars built in Kentucky, which are a final good and made in the US.
