algebra I have f'(x)= -7(3x+65)^(-8) (3) when I move the first part down (over a fraction) do I invert just the power, or the -7 as well? I.e. f'(x)= 3/7(3x+65)^(8) or would it be 3/(-7(3(x+65)^(8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The way you have it written, Just the power. The neg. exponent only applies to what you have in the brackets (3x+65)

Ok, thanks. Looking at it a second time, can i rewrite it " f'(x) = -21/(3x + 65) ^(8) ?

If the 3 is multiplied by the 7, yes

Ok, thanks. Sometimes I forget the basic stuff after a few years. lol
