Two liquids of A and B have densities of 1.44g/cm^3 and 1.48g/cm^3 respectively. If 25cm^3 of each liquid is added in a flask what would be the mass of the liquid in the flask? Also will a 5ml pipette always deliver the same value? Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mass (m) = density (ρ) * volume (V) If you look at the units for each you will understand this, g/cc * cc = g To your second question, it will deliver the same volume of 5mL=5cc but it will not give the same mass for substances of different densities, as above for example with a 25mL pipette
