Please help!!! What is the corresponding algebraic expression for the phrase “six less than four times a number”? 6n+4 4-6n 4n-6 6+4n

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

4n - 6

OpenStudy (kainui):

Hold up @texaschic101 are you sure? How do you know?

OpenStudy (kainui):

I don't believe you. I think you're lying to @Sophie83770 !!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

six less then 4 times a number... four times a number is 4n 6 less then 4 times a number is 4n - 6 I am not lying. What purpose would that serve ? I am trying to help and I know this one is correct. I do not appreciate being called a liar. If I happen to give a wrong answer, it is not done on purpose.

OpenStudy (kainui):

Yeah exactly, stop giving answers @texaschic101 it's really annoying to see people give answers without an explanation. It just causes people to come back asking the exact same type of questions over and over without learning anything.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Is that a reason to call me a liar ?

OpenStudy (kainui):

You don't get it do you?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I do get it. You are right, I should have explained it. And I usually do explain better. But that gives you no reason to call me a liar. I do not appreciate that at all.

OpenStudy (kainui):

Yeah... The point was to force you to explain yourself, and the trick worked. kthx bai
