OpenStudy (cloverracer):

How is the graph of y = -2x^2 - 5 different from the graph of y = -2x^2? It is shifted 5 units up it is shifted 5 units down it is shifted 5 units left it is shifted 5 units right

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

I know it couldn't be shifted left or right because -5 is the y-intercept, so it should go up or down..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See the two graphs and decide http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=plot+%28+-2x^2+-+5%2C+-2+x^2%29

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

It is shifted 5 units up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-2x^2 -5 is shifted down five units down from y=-2x^2

OpenStudy (cloverracer):

ohh okay I knew that, I got mixed up.
