@ganeshie8 @adrynicoleb @iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

paper clips don't weight too much, so a smaller unit is better

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

two of ur given options are not even mass units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so not kilogram

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yes, and we dont measure mass in meters and miles !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I thim=nk a paper clip is about one gram.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're correct wolf

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Interesting fact about a one gram paper clip. Are you familiar with the equation E=mc² ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But with metric system the SI units we use is Kg, and meters. Meters is for distance, kg is for mass.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer is grams though

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Well if you convert 1 gram of mass (such as a paper clip) completely into energy it equals about 20 kilotons - the energy of the Hiroshima bomb. Something to think about when you hold a paper clip.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right? Mhm let me do that calculation right now o_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Holy, 9*10^13 J O_O

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I forget who said it but someone once said, "how long can a civilization survive once they discover E=mc²?"
