can someone show me how to do the slope? if you could can you walk me through it?The table below represents a linear function f(x) and the equation represents a function g(x). x f(x) -1 -5 0 -1 1 3 g(x) g(x) = 4x + 3 Part A: Write a sentence to compare the slope of the two functions and show the steps you used to determine the slope of f(x) and g(x). (6 points) Part B: Which function has a greater y-intercept? Justify your answer. (4 points)

the table for f(x) is a bit odd, can you draw it out? or maybe take a screenshot?

yes hold on

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

thanks

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the first row says that the point (-1,-5) is on the line of f(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the second row says (0,-1) is on the graph of f(x) this point is also the y-intercept since x = 0 here

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

we now use the slope formula m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) to find the slope of the line through the points (-1,-5) and (0,-1)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what do you get when you use that formula?
