which equation is shown here on the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

have you tried plugging in points to check the equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

ok, do you know how to do that? If not, let us know and we'll be happy to help out. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so from the graph I see that the graph intersects the y-axis at 2 but what about the x-axis at -0.....?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

yeah, the x-axis is a tough one, right? :) Maybe you could pick a different point to test, like (-1, -2) which appears to be on the graph. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok will do, thanks :) I'll try

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

great! let me know what happens. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I tried and I got b as the answer (y-2)^2 + 16x=0 is this right ?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

Yes, that is correct. Good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much for your help :)

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

no problem, you did great!
