Use the Law of Detachment to draw a logical conclusion from the two given statements . If not possible, choose not possible. If it is sunny, then i will have a picnic I am having a picnic
* Not possible * It is sunny * It is overcast * If i am having a picnic, it must be sunny
What do you think?
D.. Correct????
Nope, why do you think that might be wrong? Go back and think about it for a few seconds and if you can't figure it out that's ok, it's kind of weird. But maybe you can figure it out! =)
I'm really confused..
It is sunny?
Maybe that one
So it says if it is sunny, then I will have a picnic. If it is rainy, you could also have a picnic, couldn't you? Just because you're having a picnic doesn't necessarily mean the weather is sunny. You only know that if it's sunny you're having a picnic. Simply having a picnic doesn't mean it had to be sunny.
So it would be it is sunny
No.
It's not possible to draw a conclusion here. You are having a picnic, but it could easily be overcast. For instance, is there any reason why I couldn't say: If it is sunny, then i will have a picnic AND If it is overcast, then i will have a picnic right? I could easily have a picnic any time, there's no way we can make a decision here about the weather since we don't have enough information.
So i guess not possible
Yeah.
