Help? :) What resources helped Africans build the early kingdoms of East, Central, and South Africa?

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Alright im looking now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Bantu tribes migrated from the northwest to the south, mainly from Ghana and Nigeria into present day Kenya, Tanzania, Angola and the east coast of present day South Africa. They were cattle herders from stock originating out of Egypt a thousand or more years prior. They also cultivated sorghum and other types of cereal crops originating out of the Nile area. Those who remained along the northwestern area developed trade with the Europeans and Arabs out of the Mediterranean. They traded ivory, skins and their captured enemies from tribal wars as slaves to the passing ships. Yes they sold their own people into slavery for trinkets, guns, beads and anything metal. Further south along the east coast of Southern Africa, with the help of Arab traders, the locals also developed metal mining and smelting in Zimbabwe. The ruins of the ancient kingdom are still visible and dates back to about 1000 CE.
