In my opinion, there was no such thing as middle class or working class. It was either rich or poor . Industrial gave jobs to men, women, and children. They were paid a salary, but not as much as business owners "Robber-barons" . The Industrial revolution was a horrifying time period to most "working class" people. There was no job regulations and safety. Also, it was also before food regulation, which means that processed food could be spoiled or contain lots of bacteria. People would've lost their arms or fingers, and continued to work with little pay. Children also had to work if parents need the extra money. They worked In small and tight spaces such as mining and worked hours with no job regulations.
