X^2-8x+16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what help do you need with that equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm guessing that you are trying to expand this equation? (can't remember the name, but have two equations that multiply together to form the one you have?

factoring?

If this is the case, then you need to begin by setting up a formula (x )*(x ) this way, you would have \[x^2\] then you need to have two numbers that multiply together to get 16, that also add together to get -8 so, with trial and error, you should set up a table like this: 16= 1*16 16=-1*-16 16=2*8 16 =-2*-8 16= 4*4 16=-4*-4 which of these sets (when added together, e.g. 1+16) will give you the -8?

remember, your final answer should be able to multiply together to get the original answer.|dw:1396826454987:dw| (this is an example of how to multiply two sets, not the answer)
