Veins have a much lower blood pressure than arteries. Which of these prevents backflow of blood in veins?
choices ?
it is the structure and direction where the bicuspid and tricuspid valves in the heart opens and closes that prevents the back-flow
Agree with @nincompoop But to give you a clearer picture. Arteries have higher pressure then veins because they deliver oxygenated blood to the body. They need the pressure to push the blood. Blood goes from Arteries to arterioles then to capillaries then to the tissue. Veins have a much lower blood pressure then Arteries because they don't need pressure, once blood is in tissue, it can travel back from the tissues to the heart through veins. Veins have valves to prevent the back flow of the blood. NOW Veins prevent back flow of blood through their valves. These valves open and close according to change in pressure on them.
