sammixboo (sammixboo):

I need help explaining... Give an example of an ordered pair that is plotted by only moving left from the origin along the x-axis. Explain. I already have my ordered pair, which is (-4,0), but what do I explain, and how do I explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would assume that would would explain how the ordered pair relates to the question. For example how does (-4,0) only move left from the origin along the x-axis .

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sounds like a common core question .... take what is common sense and make it as complicated as you possibly can

OpenStudy (amistre64):

by definition, moving left on the x axis is heading in the negative direction all values to the left of 0 are negative. etc ....

sammixboo (sammixboo):

(-4,0) is an ordered pair that move left from the origin, (0,0), that is also along the x axis. The x coordinate is -4, because to the left of the origin is the x-axis negative numbers. Then y coordinate is 0, because it says to stay on the x-axis, and staying on the x-axis makes it 0. ^Like that?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that makes sense to me ... it is simply an explanation of how you arrived at your solution.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Okay! Thanks.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)
