What are the coefficient rules when multiplying terms with variables?
example?
There aren't example It's just a general question I guess
hmm, if am thinking correctly, treat the coefficient the same as a variable. If they are the same combine/simplify it.
Thank you hun :)
If you are multiplying a lot of terms or several larger terms it might be worth having a look at the binomial theorem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binomial_theorem and the multinomial theorem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multinomial_theorem
a lot of equal terms*
Multiply the numerical coefficients. (Do not confuse the numerical coefficients with the base.) Perform the multiplication on the variables: Keep the variables from each term. For each variable, add the exponents that appear for each variable. 2zaxd • 3zcxb = (2 • 3)za + cxd + b + b = 6 za + cxd + b
