Solve. –3t ≥ 39 A. t ≤ 13 B. t ≥ –13 C. t ≥ 13 D. t ≤ –13

hero (hero):

1. Add 3t to both sides 2. Subtract 39 from both sides 3. Divide both sides by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just divide by -3 and switch the sign. it would end up being t<-13 so D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would I divided both sides by -3 or just the final answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well yeah, you divide -3 by itself (-3) so you can cancel it out and get t by itself. Then you divide 39 by -3 so you can get your answer. Remember you have to switch the sign at the end because you divided with a negative number.

hero (hero):

-39 ≥ 3t -39/3 ≥ t -13 ≥ t t ≤ -13

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You don't have to "remember to switch", if you listen to @Hero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok, Thank you :)
