You are going to pull two cards from a standard deck of 52 cards (without replacement) and record whether you got a face card (jack, queen, king, or ace) or a number card (2-10). Which list of events correctly makes up the sample space?

Oh probability, nice. Although i don't really understand what is being asked. Is this a multiple choice question?
Yes it is and it is multiple choice A) two number cards, two face cards, one number card and one face card, one face card and one number card B) two number cards, two face cards, one number card and one face card C) two number cards, two face cards D) number card, face card

the sample space consists of all the possible outcomes
Oh, well, if you draw two cards, than there's only a single answer possible, because there's only one answer that actually has two cards in it. The rest has more than 2 cards in it.
Although i don't think that the term sample space is used correctly in that question actually. You should point that out to your teacher.
i hate probability because it uses the cards. But, I've never played cards....
oh wait, actually. never mind that, i guess i misunderstood the question myself.
So, when two cards are drawn, which outcomes are possible. That is being asked.
Sonicman, can you work out which cards can possibly be drawn when you pick two cards from a set of 52?
its a while since i did this stuff so my memory my be faulty bu i think its (a)
