why is the discussion of the colligative properties of electrolyte solutions more involved than that of non-electrolyte solutions?

An electrolyte solution has many positive and negative particles within it and the opposite can be said for non-electrolyte solutions. Because of the presence of electrolytes, the positive electrolytes will be pulled towards the negative electrolytes; thus holding the solution together more tightly.
