In a function, the domain is the set of real numbers that can be used for the independent variable. On a graph, these values are shown on the x-axis. Consider the given function. There is no real number which can be substituted in for x for which f(x) will be non-real or undefined. Thus, the domain is (\[(-\infty,\infty)\]
