factor completely 10w^6-26w^5+12w^4

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what do you need to do...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah what's the question man?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so the coefficients are all even so 2 is a factor look at \[w^6, w^5, w^4\] what is the largest common factor of those 3 terms..?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so you have \[2(5w^6 - 13w^5 + 6w^4)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor out w^4 so its 2w^4(5w^2-13w+6)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

great that's well done... now you need to factor the quadratic... here is what I use.... mutiple 5 and 6 so 5 x 6 = 30 find the factors of 30 that add to -13....... both factors are negative...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait. why do you use 30?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

then you'll have |dw:1397504920926:dw|
