A student claims that the perimeter of a square and the area of a square are both linear function of the square's side length. Do you agree? explain fully. Let s=side length p=perimeter and A= Area

Dont agree. The perimeter is given by 4s. While the area is given by s^2. Perimeter is therefore given by a linear function while area is not (because its squared).
