open ended question here: who do you believe is the most important person in history? KUDOS to answers with thought and expression.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Someone who can learn from the past and use that knowledge to help create a better future for themselves and everyone else by avoiding its mistakes. That's my two cents at least.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

props to @Captain_Page_Turner. Vague as vague can be. But I like it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a lot of people though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Question is still open though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you talking about American history? If not who's history?

OpenStudy (a1234):

Hammurabi. One of the first set of rules in one of the first civilizations. His code has influenced many modern constitutions, too :).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mcourtney0017 ever' body's history.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there's really no right answer. I'm looking for a lot of thought and insight in this answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@a1234 I like your thinking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would reply with a smartass answer, but I'm holding it in, xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@anitasonia98 i'm waiting for it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@anitasonia98 let it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say the most important person in history is me, because I'm planning world domination...through peace and spreading my glorious ideals around, providing everyone with wisdom that'll last the ages. Okay, done. xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok cool.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good luck wit dat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you, thank you very much. xD

OpenStudy (a1234):

Great! You can start by posting your ideals on OS @anitasonia98 :).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say that one of the most, if not THE most, controversial, impacting, and important/world altering person in our history would have to be Jesus. Whether or not you believe in him, he has still made a very large impact on our societies and religions, and, if you do enough digging, our social order.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kylewendt Very good answer. Religion has very much to do with the world and especially with such an early and influential religion.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Sorry but this question is impossible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ Ashleyisakitty, oh it's possible and you can answer it? Why do believe that it is impossible? There's no one answer but you can answer it.

OpenStudy (arabpride):

Someone whose had a GREAT impact on the life that we live today. There are many of those, but that should narrow your options down a bit. @dta255

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@arabpride yeah, i really meant it to broad because I'm not interested in one answer like some one saying "Abraham Lincoln" or "Peter who lives across the street" but how well you can argue something.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

I am the most important person. I exist, therefore, I can gain from all the life experiences of all the great people, and some not so great, in History. In my life, there is no one more important than me. That is not to say I have reason to be arrogant, unkind or selfish. I am the only person who can respect all the people I come into contact, I am the only person who can love all the people I love. I am the only one who can put the needs of all my fellow man before my own voluntarily. Each person needs to know their own importance.

OpenStudy (kayne):

Different persons will have different perspectives. I think our background - academic, cultural etc - will affect the person(s) we pick as being the most important. Personally, I'm a great fan of scientists such as Mendel. It's not only because of their work but also I'm impressed by their journey. People look up to them and find inspiration. Great scientists fail but never give up until they get what they are looking for. They are the epitome of strength, patience, devotion and perseverance. Nonetheless, everyone is unique and everyone contributes to make the world's history an epic one. I think it depends on the context as well. When we talk about peace, the great Mahatma Gandhi comes to mind and so on :) @dta255, I hope that you got what you were looking for. Please close the question if you are done with it. Cheers!
